Katrina Wilkinson is an associate attorney at Salmon, Lewis & Weldon, PLC, where her practice focuses primarily on water law, natural resources, and environmental law.  She currently represents a major water provider client regularly in the Arizona General Stream Adjudications for the Gila and Little Colorado River Systems and Sources.  Katrina also represents clients with groundwater issues, administrative proceedings related to water rights, and other water issues.  In addition, Katrina represents clients in a range of environmental and general civil litigation matters.

Representative Professional Experience

  • Represented major water supplier in four-month trial related to adjudication of federal reserved water rights claim of the Navajo Nation.
  • Represents major water supplier in various proceedings in the General Stream Adjudications for the Gila River and Little Colorado River Systems and Sources.
  • Obtained favorable ruling on the effect of the Stockpond Registration Act on claims asserted in the General Stream Adjudications.
  • Advises clients on Arizona groundwater law governing groundwater use inside and outside Active Management Areas.
  • Advises clients on evolving groundwater legislation and policy.
  • Assists clients in drafting, negotiating, and executing well sharing agreements, including resolution of disputes.
  • Represents residential homeowner client to recover for damage to well caused by well drilling company.
  • Advises electrical district client on requirements of Arizona election law for special districts.
  • Advises district clients on requirements for eminent domain.
  • Defended wastewater treatment plant operator in enforcement action brought by City of Phoenix.
  • Defended small community water system client in enforcement action brought by Arizona Depart of Environmental Quality.
  • Advises small community water system client on requirements for obtaining funding from the Arizona Water Infrastructure Financing Authority.
  • Represented commercial landlord in federal court in action to recover unpaid rent.
  • Represents landowner in action to quiet adverse title claims to valuable undeveloped land.
  • Represents individuals and corporate entities to recover on various breach of contract claims.
